Breakable business rules

Breakable business rules

Sometimes in order to get results in business, conforming to traditional business practices will not always suit your needs so shake things up a bit and make your own rules. Here are seven business practices that can be broken

1.       Forget search engine marketing and Ad words- focus on your customers and they will come particularly if the deal is too good to pass up. Word-of-Mouth is the best marketing tool you could ever utilise

2.       Launch it, flaws and all- If you like an idea launch it, don’t wait for perfection (there’s no such thing). Be critical, back your idea and support it to the best of your ability. Get ready to make changes in response to feedback.

3.       Give it all away (almost)- The more you give, the more you get invest in your people and your work culture.

4.       Get rid of the C level- Flat structures are better suited to some organisations, CEO, CFO and COO can be an unnecessary bureaucracy that could complicate things.

5.       Aim high, fail in a healthy way- The problem isn’t aiming too high and failing but aiming too low and succeeding. Take failure as feedback, learn and grow

6.       Shun tradition- If you keep doing what you have always done, you will get what you’ve always got. Do things differently and get your own slice of the pie.

7.       Don’t believe the hype- Don’t believe everything you see on TV or read in the papers, sensationalism can distort the facts, best to do your own research.
