What sort of content should you put on your Facebook page?
There are two types of content for your page – on topic and off topic. On topic is everything to do with your page’s topic, no matter how broad, and so could include industry links and articles as well as your own news. Topics can be educational or inspirational.
Off topic is anything random that can be used to generate a little engagement or conversation on your page, to get people talking. I have found that what seem like mundane questions have in fact generated the most comments and interaction. I have asked questions such as ‘What are you doing this holiday weekend?’ or ‘Which famous person would you most like to have a coffee with and why?’ This simply gets people on your page taking and only takes a few seconds to think about and comment on.
Some simple questions you could ask:
- What is your favourite smartphone app?
- What are some of the best books you have read?
- What is the dumbest thing you have done this week?
- How do you motivate yourself when it’s rainy?
