Add Staff Members: If you need to add more staff, select an existing row, right-click to copy, then right-click where you’d like to insert the new row and choose “Insert Copied Cells.” This ensures that all formulas are correctly applied to the new row.
Enter Shifts: Input shift times in a consistent format (e.g., “9am-5pm” or “09:00-17:00”) to ensure accurate calculations. For multiple shifts in a day, separate entries with a slash “/” or place each on a new line by pressing
ALT+ENTER.Account for Unpaid Breaks: To deduct unpaid breaks from total hours, add entries like “1 hour break” or “30 minute break” in the shift cell. Ensure the word “break” is included to trigger the deduction.
