Apple stock tumbles as iPhone sales fall well short
Apple reported iPhone sales that fell well short of analyst estimates, sending the stock falling in after-hours trading.
Apple said it sold 51 million iPhones in the first quarter of its 2014 fiscal year, which ended December 28. That’s a new record, and up from 47.8 million last holiday season. But it didn’t meet analysts’ expectations that the company would sell 55 million iPhones in the quarter.
