On Saturday 19th November, the entire Bottrell team took to Bunnings Warehouse, Maitland to host a BBQ and raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis Australia!
Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited disease which primarily affects the lungs and digestive system. In Australia, 1 in 2500 babies are born with Cystic Fibrosis and close to 1 million people are carriers for the disease but are not physically effected. The treatment and management process for the disease is ongoing daily treatment including specialised diet, physiotherapy and exercise.
After months of planning the day finally arrived, and with the promise of a beautiful Spring day, we knew it was going to be a busy one!
At 8am the first team were on site and ready to go! Once the sausages were on the BBQ, the smell filled Bunnings carpark and the line of hungry Bunnings shoppers formed; a line that continued throughout the day while our team worked hard to keep everyone’s bellies full.
Even Bottrell’s very own Titanium Man made a special appearance with balloons for the kids!
The day was a huge success and by the time we packed up at 5pm, the team had successfully raised $864 for the charity. In fact, the shoppers were out in so much force that we had to make a quick dash to Hoff’s Quality Meats for another 30kg of sausages when our supplies started to dwindle!
The team at Bottrell Business Consultants are passionate about helping others and the community and we had a blast at Bunnings. We can’t wait for the next one!
