There are business duties or functions that you should be familiar with. It is good to know them because you will get an idea of how big your managerial role is. There are many roles but here are three of them:
Human Resources business duties
You may have business premises, equipment, furniture and everything else but they cannot operate by themselves. Humans should coordinate and control these things to help the business grow and make profits.
Human resources department is headed by a personnel manager. Their work is to recruit, manage promotions and leaves, solve employee grievances, provide on-job training, and maintain OSHA regulations among other things.
Financial duties
This role is very critical as a business needs constant income streams to run properly. Financiers keep track of money that comes in or goes out of the business. They also pay all invoices, employee salaries and go after overdue debtors.
Administration business duties
This is a crucial business department. It handles all enquiries, makes travel and reception arrangements, purchases office supplies and does event planning among other functions.
