Are you employed or self-employed? Many people are fearful when it comes to leaving full-time employment to start a business. Some of those who are in self-employment are already sure that they want to be their own boss forever. But what is better between the two?
Employment is fine if you do not desire to man your own resources such as time, money, assets and so on. It guarantees a monthly salary and it is also easier to get a quick cash loan or a personal loan (with your salary as collateral) than a person in business.
On the other hand, running a business of your own grants you freedom that any employer cannot afford to offer their employee. Besides deciding what to sell, whom to sell to, when to open and close, and who to partner with, you can plan on an early retirement. But running a business is riskier and more unpredictable than an employer’s salary.
Employment does provide perks and benefits, leaves, training opportunities and promotions among other things. But you work on the terms of someone else. They can overwork you or fire you without notice and you might choose to accept unfair treatment just to get paid.
