LAW FIRM TRUST ACCOUNTS
Under the ‘Legal Profession Act 2004 and Legal Profession Regulation 2005’, every law firm is required to have their Solicitor’s Trust Account examined by an approved external examiner annually. An “External Examiner’s Report” is submitted to the Law Society of New South Wales (or the respective state). The Law Society requests that the External Examiners Report be lodged by 31st of May each year. This is to ensure processing and any matters that arise may be addressed within the financial year.
