The Bean Counters Ball is an annual fundraising event aimed to raise money to assist local youth and education programs. The fundraiser is a joint event for the local members of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and CPA Australia to allow the accounting industry in the Newcastle region to give back to the community.

The Bean Counters Ball, established in 2011, has raised over $100, 000 since the fundraising started. Half of which was donated to Samaritans Student Accommodation and the other half to Hunter TAFE foundation.
Samaritans Student Accommodation offers supported accommodation, education and employment opportunities to young people. The Samaritans assist students in the development of life skills and mentor them to achieve their goals. By providing them with guidance, friendship, advice and motivation, the Samaritans give these students the opportunities they may not have been provided with otherwise.
The Hunter TAFE Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation working with hunter business, education and community leaders committed to supporting education and training at Hunter TAFE by helping students achieve their goals.
By holding this event and raising funds for Samaritans Student Accommodation and Hunter TAFE Foundation the accounting industry can come together and contribute to building the future of many local students.
